Groundskeeper 

Full Time

$15.00 / Hour

8:00 am- 4:30 pm (Weekends Required)

Job Summary:  

The Groundskeeper will report directly to Facilities Supervisor and is responsible for the general maintenance of the grounds, (gardens, plants and lawns) at the resort. The duty of the groundskeeper is to maintain the beautification of the exterior of the buildings, lawn and gardens in order to attract guests to the resort’s lush and green surroundings.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• The use and maintenance of hand tools and basic light machinery.
• The use of some heavy equipment, such as…chain saws, power washers, leaf blowers, etc.
• Ensure all equipment, and machinery is clean and stored securely after each use.
• To keep the exterior of the building, gardens, thoroughfares, sidewalks, and footpaths clear and free from the litter at all times.
• Outside maintenance including paving pathways, ponds, steps, walls, etc.
• Keep the tool shed/storage room clean and tidy.
• Identifying any resort grounds issues and notifying supervisor/management if needed.
• Work closely with other departments that are essential to ensure a positive guest experience.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, fit, and capable of heavy work.
• High school diploma
• Able to work in all weather conditions.
• Experienced in the use of power tools, chainsaws, blowers, and pressure washers

Physical Demands:

• Ability to be on your feet throughout the entire shift.
• Ability to lift 50lbs on a consistent basis

Required Competencies:

• Good communication skills with other staff and colleagues.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Sound knowledge and use of horticultural machinery is highly recommended
