GreatSmoky Mountains Association is hiring team members who love GSM National Parkand enjoy a fast-paced retail environment!

Weseek hourly sales assistants to work at Sugarlands Visitor Center andGatlinburg Welcome Center. Duties include ringing up sales, answering visitorquestions, stocking shelves, etc. Retail sales experience preferred. HiringRate: $15.00/hr plus performance bonuses. Need to be able to work 20-40 hoursper week.

The following duties are normal for this position. The omissionof specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from theclassification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment forthis classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Operatesvisitor center sales outlet; performs opening/closing procedures; operatesmedia player to showcase video media available for sale; secures sales outletat end of workday.

Providescustomer service in person or by telephone; provides assistance/informationrelated to park/visitor center services, facilities, activities, locations,distances, merchandise, charges/fees, procedures, or other issues; directsvisitors to points of interest within park; provides information regardingprograms of the Association and the National Park Service (NPS); providesinterpretive information to assist visitors with identification of indigenouswildlife, flora, and fauna; refers inquiries to proper Association officials,NPS officials, Gateway Regional Visitor Center partners, or other personnel asappropriate.

Performsretail sales work; assists customers with selection of merchandise forpurchase; conducts sales transactions; operates computerized cash register;process credit card payments, accepts cash payments, and makes change for itemspurchased.

Promotesthe benefits of GSMA membership to visitors; recruits and processes new membersand renewal members.

Records/securesmoneys received; collects money deposited by visitors into brochure/leafletdispensers; sorts, counts, and records money; balances cash register drawers;prepares bank deposits.

Maintains/stocksvending machines; collects, records, and secures money; coordinatesservice/repair when needed.

Maintains/displaysshelf inventory of merchandise for sale; stocks shelves, brochure/leafletdispensers, and display tables; places, moves, or removes stock items;replenishes items as necessary; obtains items from stock room.

Initiatesrequests for new/replacement materials from warehouse; inspects deliveries toverify accuracy and completeness of order; identifies incorrect or damageditems; packages items for shipment; communicates with warehouse personnelregarding status of orders, discrepancies, or problems; assists in conductingperiodic inventories.
